NEWS & UPCOMING COURSES:
FIT is more than just an educational program, it is a
philosophy. Established by World Champion Freediver
Martin Stepanek and a team of business professionals
and freediving instructors, FIT will Add Depth to Your
Life. In dive shops all over the globe, our courses,
teaching methods and community building techniques
will give people a tangible way to embrace freediving
as a recreation, competitive discipline, and
lifestyle. No matter what the level of individual
interest, we believe freediving will soon become a
widely celebrated and accessible sport to the masses.
FIT offers a broader, fresher range of opportunities to the world of freediving. Through education, community building and in-depth scientific research, Freediving Instructors and Trainers provide high-quality training direct from a World Class Competitor who knows what really works. The obvious and athletic complement to SCUBA, freediving holds the key to maximizing bottom time and increased comfort through proper breathing techniques. By opening the door between these two sports, we immediately call upon the diving population of the world to expand their knowledge and experience on a whole new level. The FIT level.....FITness through Freediving. Martin Stepanek Director of Training and Development
His passion for physiology and sports biology led him to further explore what the human body experiences while freediving. Martin found himself working closely with top researchers from prestigious universities like Harvard and the Karolynski Institutet of Sweden to uncover some of the physiological mysteries behind his sport. His participation in this ongoing research has helped scientists better understand the impact that depth and pressure have on freedivers. Martin can hold his breath for over eight minutes and dive down to over 350 feet on a single breath of air. In the course of six years he has set ten Freediving World Records in several disciplines: Static Apnea, Constant Ballast, Variable Ballast, Free Immersion. In addition to competing, Martin is also a certified International Level B Freediving Judge for the International Association for the Development of Apnea (AIDA). As a senior instructor for Performance Freediving International, he developed educational materials for clinics that he taught to over a thousand people worldwide. He is also an Instructor Trainer for the International Association of Nitrox and Technical Divers (IANTD). He continues to train competitively and set world records in various disciplines. Martin is presently the Director of Training and Development of Freediving Instructors and Trainers (FIT), through which he hopes to educate and inspire people about his sport. |
